DRISS BENCHEKROUN

Commissioning Specialist

Driss Benchekroun is a Commissioning Specialist who joined JHE in April 2021. Prior to joining the team, Driss gained 16 years of experience supporting water/wastewater projects as a process mechanical Project Engineer for various construction companies.

Driss was born and raised and Casablanca, Morocco, and moved to the United States in 1999 to attend college. Driss earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nevada Las Vegas in 2004. He joined the water/wastewater construction industry shortly thereafter, starting in Las Vegas, NV, and working from coast to coast on projects in Arizona, Florida, Washington, California, Colorado, and North Carolina.

Once Driss was exposed to the commissioning and start-up (C&SU) phase of his first large project, he enjoyed it so much that he knew he would eventually make the switch to providing full-time C&SU support after gaining more construction experience.

Growing up, Driss enjoyed playing sports, such as jogging, soccer, and especially tennis. He loved playing tennis so much that it did not matter whether he had someone to play with or not; he would find a wall to practice his game, and his favorite wall was at his grandparents’ house. Driss has also developed a love for sports cars and motorsports, specifically Formula 1, the IMSA series, the World Endurance Challenge series, and Japanese Super GT. He follows the races closely during their respective seasons, and he takes advantage of every opportunity he has to attend a race.
